Sermon Series- "The Marks of a Christian"-Galatians 6:17,18

Introduction: Sin has made its marks on our minds, personalities, bodies; Jesus bore our sins that we might bear His marks.

1. Meaning of the Marks

1. Physical Suffering- Paul went through a lot for Christ- 2 Cor.4:10;11, 11:24-27,

2. Preferred Slavery- We have been bought out of sin by His blood- 1 Cor.6:19,20

3. Personal Surrender- We surrender to Him because He surrendered to us-2 Cor.12:9,10

2. Message of the Marks

1. Love and Devotion- Polycarp, Perpetua, Felicitas,and others died for their Savior,Heb.11:35

2. Purity and Holiness- Living godly will bring persecution- 2 Tim.3:12, John 15:18-21

3. Surrender and Service- We must give up all to serve Christ- Phil.3:8

3. Merit of the Marks--Deeper knowledge of Christ- Phil.3:10, exceeding joy- 1 Pet.4:12,13

Conclusion: Letter of liberty ends in voluntary slavery- When Christ sets you free, it is a joy and privilege to serve Him
