Prayer,
As a child Philip Yancey attended a toxic church that preached racism, emphasized law instead of grace and was more passionate about condemnation than compassion. Due to this experience, Philip became an admittedly "angry, wounded person" who rejected the church and even discarded his faith for a season. Eventually, after Philip encountered "a world that was quite different than (he) had been taught about; a world of beauty and goodness" he began to journey back towards his faith.
In a very real sense, Philip's books provide an intimate account of this spiritual journey. In his earlier books, such as Disappointment with God and Where is God When it Hurts he attempts to answer some of the deep questions that threatened to derail his faith. Similarly, with The Jesus I Never Knew and What's So Amazing About Grace he provides an insightful, penetrating perspective on the heart of the Christian faith. These books enable readers explore their questions about the faith and ponder the heart of the faith in a creative way, so that they might find the strength to continue upon the journey.
Philip Yancey probes the very heartbeat--the most fundamental, challenging, perplexing, and deeply rewarding aspect--of our relationship with God: prayer.
In the video and in his recently released book by the same title, Yancey doesn't argue a position or dictate answers, he leads his viewers and readers through a process to a point of consideration. Join him in the exploration of the mysterious intersection where God and humans meet and relate.
Philip Yancey
在他寫作中, 道出他信仰歷程的真實, 他早期註作如 “Disappointment with God and Where is God When it Hurts” 他試圖回答一些他信仰出軌的問題, 同樣在 “The Jesus I Never Knew 與
