The Letter was collected some professors, staffs and students comments for Glory Hom:
Glory took me shopping my first year after our Chinese class. She was wonderfully sweet and showed me around Boston because I had no idea how to get my bearings. I knew she was battling cancer and it’s horrible to find our that she has passed away – she was just a wonderful person with no pretensions whatsoever, really one of the good ones. I’m just so stunned and saddened by this.
Glory Hom was truly one of the most beautiful individuals that I have ever known. She touched so many people with her caring personality and positive spirit. She was a great role model for me, personally. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to know her, but deeply saddened by this great loss.
Glory lived her life with immense joy, joy in learning, joy in trying, joy in laughing. She embodied the characteristics of a true Wellesley woman, wisdom, grace, and kindness. I will deeply miss her smile and wave in the Science Center on a grey day and her excitement in my classes.
Peace and love to the Hom family.
I didn’t know Glory Hom that well either, but she went to my church once in a while. Whenever I saw her, she was always smiling and caring. Even though she didn’t know me that well, she always took the time to ask me how I was doing. I am deeply saddened by her news and I hope that everyone will take a few minutes of their day to reflect as well.
Her motivation and passion was truly inspiring.
Glory had been a source of immense joy in my life. Despite her own problems and difficulties, she never failed to care about other people. She never lost hope. Although she is not physically with us anymore, her spirit will continue to live on within me. She will be greatly missed…..
Please keep her in your thoughts and hope for her family’s healing.
Glory was one of the few genuinely kind individuals I have ever met. Whenever I saw her, she greeted me with a smile and asked me how I was. Even though I was not close to her, her presence on campus will be greatly missed.
May peace be with her and her family.
Glory was cheerful, energetic, and a joy to be around. I will miss her grealy.
Glory was so wonderful. I remember running into her around the science center a lot last year, and the occasional meal in Stone-D, and she always had a smile to give. I am stunned by this news. She will be greatly missed.
Much love to her family, and to everyone touched by her life.
You couldn’t help but enjoy every little conversation you had with her. She was such a genuine and kind person and a good Wellesley sister. I will sorely miss her.
I met Glory Hom through the org, Hepatitis B Initiative. She always came to the meetings with a smile on her face and often gave presentation to new immigrants about the free screenings that the organization provides. She truly cared about others and was one of the most cheerful and selfless people that I have ever encountered. May she rest in peace.
Glory gave love to all. She filled the room with joy, even when she was not feeling will. Glory’s return to Wellesley after her first treatment for leukemia resulted in a spontaneous and emotional celebration in SC Lounge, because everyone who randomly happened to be there at the time knew Glory (from a whole variety of connections). Everyone had been positively affected by her when she was here and missed her greatly while she was gone. I am grateful that I had the privilege of knowing her for the short time that we had her with us. She is a wonderful role model for how to fill life with love and to live most fully.
