DMT Worship Dance People of God

Worship Dance, DMT, Christian Rock, Carmen,

Worship leader with arms raisedAs a worship leader married to a dancer in a church that is mostly made up of non-demonstrative people, the discussion of certain expressions of worship comes up repeatedly for me — in particular, the question of whether dancing, raising hands, speaking in tongues, kneeling, and the use of certain modern instruments such as drums are acceptable expressions of Christian worship.

It’s not the leaders that have the difficulty. It’s folks in the congregation from a variety of backgrounds that may be familiar with social prohibitions against some of these practices.

People of God

Chorus:
We're the people of God, and we're here to say
Living for the Lord is the better way
We're the people of God, and we're on a quest
Raising up a banner of righteousness

Full of hope, faith, and fire
We're the chosen, rising to a higher plane
A performance, stirring up the gift that was dormant
War, no, we're not afraid
Send a giant out, we'll take him down with the Word, and the Spirit
This generation needs to hear it now
And demonstrated with God's power

Chorus

Extra, extra, read all about it
Satan lost the war and no doubt it works
This holy power, and it's ours to devour foes
Who come against us 'cause it send us out
And strong in the spirit
This generation needs to hear it now
And demonstrated with God's power.

Chorus

Someone hurts us, He's the one who mends us
God before us, who can be against us
Redemption, yes we're living proof
We're the church, church on the move
