Buckhead Church‘s (in Atlanta, Georgia)

First Church of God in Vero Beach, Florida

Duke Dejong at Victory Worship Center in Tucson, Arizona

This massive stage design incorporated Christmas trees, 12,000 Christmas lights, and rented Wafer Wall panels to create a spectacular winter stage.

10,000+ Christmas lights were hung behind the stage to serve as a back wall along with a variety of sized Wafer Wall panels. LED fixtures and projected gobos were shot onto the Wafer Wall panels to create an exciting, dynamic backdrop.

Each set of colored Christmas lights were controlled separately to allow them to disappear, or only show one at a time. Finally, fifteen white, 7-foot tall Christmas trees were also used and lit using LED fixtures.

This awesome stage incorporates floating plastic snowflakes, color-changing lit piano stages, Christmas lights, candles, and most everything else that could put you in the Christmas spirit!

The round bases you see on stage were made out of steel by a church member because they had to hold the weight of a pianos. The 2 larger ones are 10′ in diameter, 3′ high. The 2 smaller ones are 8′ in diameter and 18″ high. The bases are wrapped in 4mm Natural Coroplast. Natural is a translucent color and it diffuses the light really well. They ordered 25 (4′X8′) sheets which ran them a little under 500 bucks. From the inside of them they used Elation LED strips, 2 per 10′ dia. and 1 for each of the smaller ones.

Also in the set design they used over 200 plastic snowflakes. Some had frosted tips and some were totally clear. On the front of the stage are custom candle holders made by their steel/welder church member. All of the other candles (besides the ones on the holders) were LED candles. 6 HighEnd Studio Spots and 4 Cyberlights were also used.

This is probably one of the best uses of candles in a stage design that I’ve ever seen. These huge candle chandeliers hung above the church stage combined with 300+ candles to create this wonderful Christmas set piece.

Each level in these candle chandeliers were made of 4X8 sheets of 3/4” medium-density fibreboard. The diameter of the largest level was 8 feet. Each level was composed of 4 half circles with the seams offset then glued and screwed together. L-shaped screw hooks were screwed in between the sheets and connected to ropes for hanging.
